* this is originally a song i wrote on guitar, but i like it, so i thought i'd post it*

Father's a name I take seriously
You gave it to yourself courteously
You left mom alone, now I'm all she's got
The pain you caused, makes me wish you would rot

Did you ever love me dad?
Did you even care?
Now look who I've become
So much greater then you can bare

What were you thinking as you walked out of our lives
How could you do this? Cheat, and then leave us with lies?
You ran away from all the good she gave you
And you''ll never get it back, you're such a fool
Was it worth it?

When I was little, it never made sense
Where was my daddy? My protector, my defense
I needed you more then you can understand
There's just something's you can only talk about with a man

But a man is not what I see in you
No, just a guy who runs away, never pulls through
Yet I still can't bring myself to hate
Even though you've left me hurting, stuck with this emotional weight

What were you thinking as you walked out of our lives
How could you do this? Cheat, and then leave us with lies?
You ran away from all the good she gave you
And you'll never get it back, you're such a fool
Was it worth it?

I hope you know things won't be like they were
I'm not a child anymore, not that sweet little girl
I've made mistakes, and succeeded, and tried
But was it too much to ask, for you to be my guide?

What were you thinking as you walked out of our lives
How could you do this? Cheat, and then leave us with lies?
You ran away from all the good she gave you
And you'll never get it back, you're such a fool
Was it worth it?
