How do I forgive him when he betrayed my trust?
When instead of using his heart to love he chose lust
He broke my heart and many times made me cry
And it took 2 years for me to realize it was time to say goodbye.
If I let him back in my life
Will it work this time?
Or will I end up with another heart break?
Something else to add to my list of mistakes?
I spent 2 years doing what I was told
And he threw us away because it was her he wanted to hold.
Through thick and thin it was me by his side
Ups and downs, and all the times I stayed up all night and cried.
Not even as he watched the tears pour from my eyes
Was enough to end the lies.
Time and time again my heart was left in the dirt
The only thing I ever felt was hurt.
How can I ever trust again,
And risk going back to where I've already been?
Truth is, the only way to shield yourself from betrayal
Is to never love at all.
