Remember the day I met you?
How I was so awkward and shy?
I don't usually act that way,
It was just something about you.

I remember standing in Allie's driveway,
I was so nervous, could you tell?
And then when you stepped out of that truck,
I froze; I didn't know what to do.

Something in your demeanor,
Made me freeze on the spot.
And still to this day,
I can't figure it out.

By the end of the night I felt at ease,
I was comfortable with you.
I fell so hard for you in just one night,
Maybe that was my first mistake.

We dropped you off at home,
And went back to Allie's house.
The very first thing she said to me
Was "Oh my God, guess what."

We talked all night about you,
Like teenage girls always do.
She told me you said you liked me,
And I felt my heart jump.

It's been three months since that day,
What's changed in your head?
Once I finally let me guard down,
Everything ended.

Was it something I did?
Or something I said?
Can I fix it somehow?
Or is it all in my head?

Is it you?
Or is it me?
I fell hard for you,
Why can't you see?

Letting my guard down,
My second mistake.
Making you my everything,
The third mistake.

It's been two months since I've heard from you last,
But somehow my heart still aches.
I don't think you realize the impact you've left,
You were something special.

I wish I could simply erase my mistakes,
Like pencil on a piece of paper.
But even if you were my biggest mistake,
You'll always be my favorite.
