I never listened
I did my own thing
Ever since I was christened
I'd always refuse to sing
My father I didn't obey
Running when told to walk
Didn't care what my mother would say
Screaming when told to not talk
Then that day came when
I left home and began my own life
Entered the world of men
On the search for a good wife
Reality beat me about the face
Truth left me out to dry
A terrible fall from grace
And then I knew why
I went back home
First time in years
No other place to roam
Tired of running from fears
My father I embraced
Saying I was truly sorry
Running to my mother with haste
I was no longer just quarry
The lessons learnt
Are learnt hard
At the cost of being burnt
Learn these lessons young so later you won't be scarred
